Quality control & inspection
When you buy from a factory you cannot walk into, quality control is what you are really buying. Here is how we check every piece before it is packed, and how you can verify the order yourself before it sails.
In-house QC on every piece
Every piece is checked on our own floor before it is packed — not sampled in batches. Timber is kiln-dried in our own yard and logged by moisture content, typically 8–10% for sheesham and mango, so furniture stays stable after shipping to a dry, air-conditioned interior.
- Moisture — logged and within the target range for the destination climate.
- Joinery — joints, glue-up and structural integrity.
- Finish — colour match, evenness and consistency across the run.
- Dimensions — checked against the approved sample and your drawing.
- Upholstery — tailoring, fill and fabric where applicable.
- Packing — protection and labelling before the container is loaded.
The approved sample is the benchmark
Before production, you approve a sample. That approved piece becomes the standard every production unit is checked against — so "as per the sample" is a measurable statement, not a promise.
Third-party inspection welcome
You are welcome to appoint an independent inspector — SGS, Bureau Veritas or your own agent — to inspect the order before it ships. We facilitate access and provide the documentation an inspection needs. Genuinely welcoming third-party inspection is a competence signal, and we treat it as one.
Photos & video before it sails
For your order we can provide QC photos and a video walkthrough of the finished goods, and a factory video call if you would like to see the floor. You verify the order remotely before the balance is settled and the container leaves.
Frequently asked
- Do you allow third-party inspection?
- Yes — you are welcome to appoint SGS, Bureau Veritas or your own agent to inspect the order before it ships, and we facilitate access and documentation.
- What do you check on each piece?
- Moisture, joinery, finish, dimensions against the approved sample and drawing, upholstery where applicable, and packing — on every piece, in-house, before it is packed.
- Can I get photos or video before it ships?
- Yes — we can send QC photos and a video walkthrough of the finished goods, and hold a factory video call, so you verify the order remotely before it sails.
- What moisture content should the wood be?
- For dry, air-conditioned interiors, solid wood should be kiln-dried to roughly 8–10% moisture. We kiln-dry in our own yard and log the moisture of every piece.
